CapClarity™ measures how well an organization can reliably perform, invest, grow, and transform. It looks at 16 key areas of what an organization can do – its capabilities – and how ready it is for significant changes or opportunities.

Each capability is checked against eight specific 'clarity dimensions'. Think of these dimensions as different angles of looking at each capability – like Policy/Status, Ownership, Workflow, Data, Systems, Skills, Risk Management, and Performance Signals. These help measure how well things are running in each area.

The score ranges from 0 to 100. 0-39% suggests the organization lacks essential conditions. 40-59% shows important practices exist but are inconsistent. 60-74% means the capability is developing. 75-89% indicates it's generally reliable, and 90-100% signifies a strong, sustainable capability.

CapClarity™ is designed for a wide variety of organizations! This includes private companies focused on growth, governments ensuring service reliability, nonprofits working towards mission delivery, institutions needing governance frameworks, and even funders/investors assessing readiness before committing capital. Vendors can use it to clarify scope and execution readiness too.

The confidence level is based on how many reliable sources support each rating. 'Low Confidence' means there's only one source or not much supporting evidence. 'Moderate Confidence' means a few sources offer some backing. 'High Confidence' means multiple current sources largely agree on the rating. This helps understand how reliable each score is.

Unlike generic maturity models, CapClarity™ uses a disciplined approach with defined dimensions and evidence. It's not about stating intent or reputation, but about evaluating the current condition based on verifiable data. It focuses on what an organization can reliably execute today.

CapClarity™ offers specific insights for various decisions – from technology investments and vendor selection to funding applications and mergers/acquisitions. CapClarity™ is designed to be re-assessed regularly – like every 6-12 months – to track progress over time. Ownership is a critical dimension. It assesses whether clear accountability exists for each capability – who is responsible, and who has the authority to make decisions. Strong ownership leads to better execution and ensures that capability improvements are sustained.
